Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss
The first major co-production with the Elder Conservatorium in what will become an annual fixture at this time each year. This will be a fully-staged opera involving State Opera’s young and emerging artists and all of the vocal students from the Elder Conservatorium. This is a landmark collaboration which brings together operatic artists at all stages of their development.

Karina Jay will be appearing in the role of Servilia in Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito with Co-Opera on the 30th of July and 7th of August.
Co-Opera’s Intermezzo Series Presents: LA CLEMENZA DI TITO, Mozart’s epic tale of politics, power, and humanity. Transported from the Rome of its orginal setting to the modern arena of war: Big Business. The battlefield is now the boardroom.

“Opera to Broadway”
Join State Opera of SA soprano Karina Jay and Co-Opera SA mezzo-soprano Charlie Kelso as they team up for their first ever combined concert in the gorgeous acoustics of Malvern Uniting Church on Sunday July 3rd. The 2pm concert is the first in a new series called Mostly Music @ Malvern which is designed to help raise funds for the church’s organ restoration project. Be a part of the fundraiser while these emerging opera singers treat you with a wide selection of opera and Broadway favourites, with a dash of art and folk song. They’ll take you from Monteverdi to Mozart to Les Mis, with so much in between!
The concert will be accompanied by the wonderful Mark Sandon on piano.
Tickets are only $20 adult, and $5 for children under 12. Tickets available at the door.

Join us for this exciting Adelaide Fringe Production created especially for staging in the Freemasons Great Hall on North Terrace, just a five-minute walk to the Garden of Unearthly Delights! This opera has been a favourite with adults and children alike for more than two centuries and will be brought to life with a brand new production featuring vintage fantasy sets and costumes, masonic symbolism, strange creatures, true love and a series of epic and transformative trials. Sung in English and performed with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, this is a Fringe production not to be missed.
Soprano Karina Jay will be making her State Opera of South Australia debut in the role of Papagena in this production.

Karina Jay will play the role of Edith in another SOLD OUT seasons of Gilbert & Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance, staged on the River Torrens’ Popeye as part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
